Yesterday was a rough day, to say the least. I had to renew my Maine license, because it expires tomorrow and I need a valid license, even though I move to Tennessee fulltime in a month and a half. However, I’m currently in Boston for the summer. So I had to go up to Maine and back, with a trip to the DMV in the middle. Tops, it should have been a 4 hour thing, counting stopping at the rest stop for lunch and actually being at the DMV.
Well, it was more like 6. My dad’s GPS is old and not updated. Plus, I’m not familiar with the streets and the ways to drive out of Boston, which has awful traffic in the first place, so I got lost and the GPS didn’t help. The trip up to Maine was therefore about 30 minutes longer than it should have been. On the way back and to pick my dad up from work south of the city, the GPS took me through the city and into Boston traffic instead of around. Then I got lost. Really lost. Like, 5 times. So that trip ended up being about 1.5 hours longer than it should have been.
Needless to say, when I finally made it after picking up my dad and getting back into the city, my back and knee were extremely unhappy. And then, a lovely pick-me-up sat on my doorstep.
That’s right, folks – my Erin Condren teacher lesson planner arrived last night!
Even the box is pretty
Oh you bet I will!
ahhh it’s so pretty!
It is just what my perfectionist tendencies and desire to be super-organized needed. And it was absolutely worth the money, which I wasn’t sure about when I ordered it. I’m in love – with an organizer.
This turned my bad mood around so much, and put me back into the Birthday Week zone.
That’s going to continue today. Today is Treat Yourself Day. Tomorrow (my birthday!!) I won’t have time to spend time with myself doing these things, so they’re happening today. Activities include: pedicure and vintage/bargain shopping. Of course, there are other things higher on my to-do list that need to get done, but they’ll get done.
Right now, I’m just happy with my planner and my cup of coffee. The Saga of the Trip to the DMV is over (for the most part), and we are back in Birthday Week celebrations.
