Celeb Sightings and the Opera

In Nashville, it’s pretty easy to see celebrities while doing normal things. For example, I once (physically) ran into Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth in a boutique in Hillsboro Village. Now that there are more TV shows and movies being set in Nashville, the number of celeb sightings has increased.

This weekend, I went to see the Barber of Seville at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. At the intermission, I went up to go to the bathroom, and as I walked down the row to the exit I realized that there were 2 famous people sitting just a few seats down from me.

Charles Eston, who stars as Deacon
Eric Close, who stars as Teddy

It took a lot of self control for me to not freak out when I suddenly found myself standing a foot behind Eric Close as he and Charles Eston (also known as the Whose Line Is It Anyway? star Chip) stood up with their wives to go stretch their legs. Running into the cast of Nashville is now a regular component of living in Nashville – I accidentally got into a scene once because I didn’t realize that they were filming – but this was still a pretty great addition to my already excellent trip to the opera.

  • I haven't seen any celebrities here yet. I used to see them all the time when I lived in NYC

  • Ahhhh jealous! There's nothing like randomly bumping into someone you see on tv all the time, it's just surreal.

  • Yeah, we ran into 3 cast members of Nasvhille at the flea market in October. At first they didn't act like wanted to be seen. As my son in law walked away out of embarresment, I yelled, "Hey, there are the new stars of Nasvhille. Can I get your photo." Because they were the new young stars not alot of people recognized them and came up and asked, "Are they famous?" 🙂
