Now that we’re older, it’s hard for me to spend quality time with my sister. We’re both working, she’s a social butterfly, and I have limited energy related to my health problems. But it’s still important that we cultivate our relationship, so we try to schedule things to do together. For example, last week we got pedicures together.
The great thing about living in the city is the abundance of places to get your nails done. There are several within walking distance of our house, so last Wednesday we popped over to one for a little pampering. It was a lovely experience, and it was great to spend time with Emily without one of us needing to rush off for something.
When it came time to pay, I didn’t have any cash on me. In the past, this would be cause for a fight or for her to be extremely annoyed with me, which I completely understand. But this time, Emily paid for both of our pedicures, and I sent her money via the Square Cash app.
Square Cash is a free app that allows anyone to quickly send money between friends, or get paid for your business. No “cashing out” – money deposits directly to your bank account. And, it’s FREE between friends. It’s so simple; all I had to do was download the free app, add my bank account information, and then I could send and receive money, which also demonstrates how fast it was. Emily and I were sitting at home, I sent her money, and she received it almost instantly. Square Cash has definitely changed how I split things with friends and family, and I have a feeling that it will be really helpful when it comes time for holiday shopping.
Have you ever used an app like Square Cash (or Square Cash itself)?
What would you use it for?
