It’s 3:45PM and I’m just now posting … whoops.
This past weekend was Vanderbilt’s homecoming. I still live in Nashville, so it wasn’t like I was coming home to the city or even the university. I’m not there every week, but I am on a regular basis (especially because I’m a patient at Vanderbilt University Medical Center). It was still a wonderful weekend, full of time with friends.
First up was choir reunion. Every year, the current members of Vanderbilt University Concert Choir (VUCC) come together with the returning ones to sing and share memories.
Next was time for some good old-fashioned tailgating. At Vandy, that means sundresses, bowties, cornhole, and fraternities. By the way, I’m awful at cornhole. Completely awful.
Then Sunday was time for sorority brunch! No pictures this time. It was still great to get together with my Delta Gamma sisters!
Today I had a professional development day but no students. Tomorrow I’m giving myself a full day off and then Wednesday and Thursday are grading days before I head to a wedding on Friday.
How does my homecoming line up with yours? Any similarities in school traditions?
