Culture and Sickness and Friends

Happy Monday! If you’re like me, it isn’t a happy one at all. I came down with a cold on Thursday, spent all weekend dealing with it, and woke up with a fever this morning. I’ll go to school not feeling well, but I draw the line at a fever. I’m out today but it doesn’t feel like another weekend day because I feel so. sick. Ugh.
Luckily, I was able to do a couple of non-sickly things over the weekend.

Friday night, my friend Katharine and I went to the Nashville Symphony. Along with an incredible Schumann piano concerto (with a spectacular pianist), they played Stravinsky’s Firebird, which is one of my all-time favorite pieces.
Saturday, some of my friends from college were in town! We, along with some other friends still living in Nashville, met up for a 3-hour coffee/lunch date at one of my favorite places, Fido.
I promptly got back in bed after, and didn’t really move for the rest of the weekend other than a trip to Chipotle.
Lots and lots of chicken and rice soup, magazines, and Netflix (in this case, re-watching Political Animals). Here’s to hoping that I feel loads better by tomorrow and can go back to work!
