Happy Birthday, America!!

It’s the Fourth of July! But since it’s also Throwback Thursday, let me share with you a great tradition of mine – making birthday cakes for America.

One year, it was just a great excuse to make cake. And then the cake turned out looking awful. Whatever.

Then last year, I really wanted to try making this American flag cake. I might attempt it again this year and see if I can make it look better than last year, but that has yet to be determined.

Well, I’m off to celebrate the great U. S. of A. in the marvelous city of Boston. How are you celebrating today?

I think the cake looks great, I bet it was delish too! I usually make a flag cake–simple white cake, cool whip as frosting and use strawberries and blueberries to make it look like a flag!
