Another month down and we’re somehow already 2 months into 2016 and it’s time to talk February favorites.
Listening
Hamilton soundtrack, for obvious reasons
TLM playlists, especially Nicholas’s because I love his playlist
I’ve reawakened my love for classical music this month, too. It’s my current music for working on schoolwork. I actually played an obscene amount of music until college when my arthritis pain was too much. I started violin when I was 6, flute when I was 10, and viola when I was 12. I actually went to All-State sophomore through senior year on the viola – and was 3rd chair my senior year – and played in an orchestra from seventh grade until I graduated. I was also in the school band every year after fifth grade, on the flute. Listening to classical music again has brought that all back.
Reading
I’ve done very little reading this month, unless you count homework for my Yeats class. It doesn’t help that I was sick for 10 out of 29 days this month, and that I’ve been sick with a sinus infection so I can’t wear headphones at all aka I haven’t been listening to Audible.

Meet Cherie from Modern Yet Nostalgic!
My name is Cherie and I’m a work in progress. So is my blog. Modern Yet Nostalgic is — in theory — a lifestyle blog for millennials who want to reminisce about the good old days. In execution, Modern Yet Nostalgic is mostly a hodgepodge of personal stories, my take on books and entertainment, and a lot of cat pictures.
I try to write posts with a sense of humor — both about the world and myself. If we’re not laughing at ourselves, we’re probably not having much fun.
