I’ve done my fair share of baking over the years, and homemade frosting was one of the first recipes that I was able to made a good version of and memorize. But I was thrown for a loop this weekend when I went to make frosting for my bunny cake and didn’t have all of my normal experiences. Well I was already exhausted and didn’t want to run out again for more, so I just improvised. And it turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself!
Ingredients Needed:
4 cups of powdered sugar
8-12 tablespoons (aka 1/2-3/4 cup) of cocoa
10 tablespoons (aka 1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons) of butter or vegan butter, softened
2-4 tablespoons of water (add as little or as much as you want to achieve the desired textured)
Instructions:
1. Sift the powdered sugar and cocoa together
2. Cream the butter
3. Add the sugar mixture to the butter and stir
4. Add the water 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing after each, until you have reached the desired texture.
This will make enough to frost 2 layers of 8″ cake! Enjoy!
