Is your closet cluttered? Do you have 10 pairs of jeans? When you walk into a store, do you get overwhelmed because you do not know what to buy? My best guess is that you do not have a great selection of staple items in your wardrobe. A staple in fashion is a basic garment like a little black dress. This item is versatile and easy to accessorizes for different occasions but will remain a classic. These are pieces you want to invest money in because they are likely to last longer. I have complied a list of 3 staple items every gal should have in their closet.
1. Jeans
Whether you are a jeans and t-shirt kind of lady or you’re like me and hate wearing pants, denim is a must have. I suggest having at least 2 pairs of jeans, one to wear with flats and the second to wear with heels. I personally like dark wash denim because they last longer. Brand wise I suggest American Eagle or if you like a higher rise French Dressing Jeans. Jean can be made appropriate for casual Friday at work or for dinner and drinks with the girls. Above all they are comfortable and great for the weekend!
2. Blazer
As illustrated in the photos thus far a blazer can be dressed up or worn for a more casual event. I like this stripe blazer because it adds a little flair and fits my fashion personality. Since we are talking staples, I would recommend a classic solid black. (Don’t worry I have one of those too) It is important when shopping for these “staple” pieces to purchase items that fit your personal and unique style.
3. Little Black Dress
This is my all time favorite staple. I have worn my LBD to work, attending fashion shows, on a date with the mister, out for a night on the town with the girls, and here it is pictured to your left as a casual look for family. There is a variety of different LBDs available to you based on your taste. The dressed pictured is the brand Sympli the Best it is easy to pack and doesn’t wrinkle. This you can find pretty much anywhere!
The idea is to have your staple item be the base of your outfit then add other fashion garments and accessories. This will eliminate stress when shopping because you’ll already have your staples in mind allowing you to build off of what you currently own. Try to invest more in these pieces because they will last longer. Don’t forget to always by items that fit your fashion personality so you actually wear them. Be you because you are wonderful! Well dolls it has been a pleasure. Thank you Kate for having me on here.
Happy Shopping! Gigi xo
