As you guys know, I’m a big fan of being open about growing my blog. For years, I’ve published blog traffic reports. In recent years, I’ve been focusing on one big thing a month to try and grow my blog. This month, it’s Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers by Russell Brunson. In this post, I’m going to explain why you should be reading this book and some things that I’ve taken away from it so far.
Grow Your Website with Traffic Secrets by Russell Brunson
Traffic Secrets is the third book in a trilogy by Brunson, the first two being DotCom Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Growing Your Company Online and Expert Secrets: Find Your Message, Build a Tribe and Change the World. I hadn’t read either of the first two, and that didn’t impact my ability to get what Brunson is saying. I’m not saying that you won’t get anything from those books, but don’t let the fact that this book is the last in a trilogy stop you from checking it out!
That being said, what is it that makes this book stand out?
For me, it’s the fact that Brunson is taking ideas that aren’t necessarily new but making them accessible. These are ideas and techniques that are the foundation of direct marketing and he makes them more understandable. He breaks them down to help readers be at the front of the pack by recognizing new trends and opportunities that others don’t see. This book has ways for readers to understand and use strategies that will bring consistent traffic.
I have been reading this book for about a month and I’m really enjoying it. Like I said, Brunson isn’t necessarily reinventing the wheel. But, in addition to making these techniques accessible, Brunson has strategies for readers to use to make the most of this book. I strongly think that you will get a lot out of this book if you put a lot into the strategies.
If you follow me on social media – Twitter specifically – you know that I am participating in a 30-day challenge from this book. If you participate in this challenge, too, you’ll know only learn the strategies that Brunson has come up with; you’ll also really get these strategies that will grow your site traffic. You’ll internalize and apply them and I think your site will benefit from them.
If you’re wondering why I keep saying “site” instead of “blog,” it’s because these strategies can work for whatever your website is, a blog or a site for a company. Brunson includes advice for a lot of different industries, as well as advice for brick-and-mortar stores’ websites, too, to generate local leads.
I have really loved Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers and the 30-day challenge, and I’ve been blogging since 2013. So wherever you are in your blogging or website journey, I think you’ll love it, too.
