Firstly, I want to thank Kate the Almost Great for having me on her blog. It’s been such a pleasure getting to know her and I can’t wait to get to know the rest of you! When I think of fall, I think of brown, coppery colors. So, I wanted to share my favorite lip colors of the season I hope you enjoy!
P.S. None of these contain Lanolin which many people (including myself) are allergic to.
Pros: Nice sheer coverage, but not super sheer like the balms below. Silky texture.
Cons: Waxy taste, but that’s not a big deal to me though.
Revlon Color Burst: Romantique $6
Pros: Very sheer, so it just subtly enhances your own lip color. Great for a day when you are running out of the house.
Cons: If you have a full face of makeup on, this may be too subtle and not show up.
Smashbox: Vivid Violet $20
Pros: This is an opaque creme lipstick, so it’s moisturizing and gives lots of coverage. I love that it looks so natural, yet it holds up to even smokey eyes.
Cons: Can’t think of any!
Revlon Color Burst: Adore $6
Pros: Very sheer. Subtly adds a copper color. Great for a day when you are running out of the house.
Cons: If you have a full face of makeup on, this may be too subtle and not show up.
Moi, Au Naturel (for comparison) 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this review. If you have any suggestions or questions, please leave them in the comment section and I’ll respond ASAP!

I've been eyeing the Revlon Lip Butter for a while, but usually end up going to the NYC color section and grab the Applelicious lip balms for 1.50 each. Might need to go for that one though 🙂

Hi, I've used the NYC lip balms too. They are similar but not as sheer as Revlon's. However, you can't beat the price!

I love the Revlon Lip Butter!

I love your blog name. I wish I had become "The girl who loved lip glosses…" 🙂

While these all look great on you, I don't think you can really consider the $20 Smashbox lipstick cheap. I dont, anyway. Plus, all of these are tested on animals. 🙁
Merrie K. says
Good point, I threw in the Smashbox lipstick at the last minute bc I'd already taken the pictures. I meant to put a blurb that it was exempted from the cheapness claim, but forgot. Thanks for calling it out! I also didn't know about the animal testing. Do you have any brands that you recommend that don't? I"m at http://www.PetiteCareerGirl.com

Me too!

All of these colors are so pretty. The Revlon Color Burst in Romantique is my favorite! A cheap lipstick I love is N.Y.C Sheer Red. It looks just like Clinique's Angel Red.
