This has been my go-to recipe for 10 years! Here are some notes:
1. I also add flax seed meal and/or chia seeds.
2. Go with whatever berry combination you like! I like a solid mix but this is really customizable. I do suggest though that if you include strawberries you might need more milk just to make them easier to blend, even if they’re not whole.
3. I cannot stand bananas, even the slightest taste of them, which is why I use peanut butter for added texture.
4. I generally will use unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and my second choice is sweetened unflavored almond milk. I don’t like it too sweet but I don’t mind it if the greens I’m using are something like kale.

I am a long-time chronic illness patient who shares her life and tips for living with chronic illness through Instagram, my blog Kate the (Almost) Great, my newsletter, and more. ⁣

I have a collection of illnesses, including but not limited to rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, Sjögren's syndrome, POTS, endometriosis, and asthma. I also have the genetic bone condition tarsal coalition as well as a bunch of weird things about how my body formed that don't have names. This includes bones that are the wrong length, miscellaneous cartilage in places it shouldn't be, etc.⁣
⁣
While I love my home state of Maine, I live in the Boston area due to my health, the fact that I drive as little as possible, and the benefits that come with living near a major city like public transportation and Door Dash. ⁣
⁣
Chronic illness and pain are major parts of my life, as I've dealt with symptoms since 2001 and everything I've learned and done since then has been done while dealing with them. I'm also passionate about historical fiction and fantasy novels, education, and coffee. ⁣

For a long time, we didn’t know what was wrong with me, just that something was. That meant that when I was finally diagnosed, my RA was pretty well progressed. Between that and my luck, we had no idea what was to come. I’m so grateful to be here.

Week 5 of #2025Weekly ⁣

I didn't really take a lot of pictures. I didn't do a lot, but as the last few weeks have shown, that hasn't stopped me from taking pictures of my day-to-day life. ⁣
⁣
This week was different, though, as I feel discouraged and pessimistic about this country's future. ⁣
⁣
I still have to eat 3 meals a day, take all of my medication, and go to work. But this week I needed to wrap my head around what the long-term future looks like for Americans. ⁣
⁣
Moving forward means putting your own oxygen mask on first. ⁣
⁣
