March is a difficult month to dress for, especially in New England. We hit 70 the other day – which was a record, or at least very close to one – but last week it was 20s-30s. Rain one day, sun the next. Need a ton of layers one day, very new the next. So as a New Englander born and bred, today I’m sharing my favorite spring outfits, as well as alternatives to the pricier items, like my beloved Pixie pants from J.Crew. Oh, and by the way, I’m going down to D.C. on Sunday to attend the Arthritis Foundation’s Advocacy Summit! Be sure to follow me on Snapchat (katebmitchell) for tons of updates, and I’ll be tweeting a LOT (@kmitchellauthor) Monday-Tuesday.
J.Crew toothpick jean, gibson v-neck short sleeve (Nordstrom), Bobeau Long Cardigan (Nordstrom)
J.Crew pixie pant, Halogen scoop neck woven tank in 4 awesome patterns (Nordstrom), Merona striped scarf (Target)
I adore my pixie pants and find them one of the best clothing purchases I’ve ever made, but they are a bit pricey. Here are some alternatives, all less than $50 – Jolt Pointe Pants (Nordstrom), Charter Club Petite Pull-On Skinny Twill Pant (Macy’s), and ASOS Ankle Length Skinny Stretch Pants.
Spring scarves – ASOS White Based Lightweight Check Scarf, Oasis Light Weight Chevron Print Scarf, BP. Floral Paisley Square Scarf,
Shoes that are perfect for spring: Keds (I just bought a second pair!), Steve Madden flats, Hunter rain boots (these last forever and are so worth the money if you can manage it)
What is your favorite spring fashion?
