Ideas for Holiday Gifts: Cyber Monday Gift Ideas

It’s finally here! Thanksgiving is over and it’s time for Cyber Monday gift ideas. I have assembled over 50 products to buy as gifts for others or yourself. I’ve started with pretty standard Cyber Week things, but the end of the post is focused on health, especially some awesome brands that I love.

This post contains affiliate links. I do not share any product or company that I dislike; all opinions are mine. Thank you for supporting Kate the (Almost) Great®!

Perfect Pot – I got this for last Christmas and I cannot recommend it enough. It is very similar to a La Creuset but it is nowhere near as heavy. I’ve used it to make pasta, soup, slow cooker meals in the oven, and more.

Always Pan® 2.0 – This is on my Christmas list this year and I was very clear that I want it. It’s also by Our Place and can be used for many different things.

Our Place Bakeware Set

Healy Heritage Farm

What kind of daughter would I be if I didn’t include some of my mom’s awesome products? For those who don’t know, she has a hobby sheep farm. Follow her here.

Use code CYBER2024 for 20% off all orders over $60.

Plates – These are so cute. They are actually made by a friend of my sister, who makes pottery at Third Space Ceramics. There are only a few left!

Mugs – These are also made by Shannon at Third Space Ceramics. The pattern is based off of the fleece of a sheep.

Towels – These feature Everly, one of her younger sheep.

Tote bags – These also feature Everly.

Hats – One of these hats is something my mom knit, and some of them are hats she bought in Denmark some years ago.

And if you’re a knitter or crocheter, check out her yarn! They’re all from her sheep and the colored ones are all hand-dyed (like, they hung on a drying rack in my parents’ driveway after she dyed them).

Again, use code CYBER2024 for 20% off all orders over $60.

Electronics

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2024)

Amazon Kindle 6″ e-Reader

Apple Watch SE (2023) – I love my Apple Watch. I haven’t regretted buying it once! I’ve tested it against hospital HR monitors multiple times, and it has always been accurate.

Apple Watch Series 10 Aluminum Case (2024) – If you want some more bells and whistles, check out this version.

Apple AirTag (4 Pack) – Never lose your things again! My former roommate’s cat kept getting out of our apartment, so they put an AirTag on the cat. Put them on your keys, backpack, suitcase, etc. Buy them for yourself or for the person in your life who cannot keep track of their damn keys no matter what. (Just make sure they have an iPhone, iPad, Mackbook Pro, etc. so they can use the tags.)

Apple AirTag (1 Pack)

Best Gift Ideas for the Holidays: New Chronic Illness Patients

Beats Studio Buds + True Wireless Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Earbuds

Apple AirPods

Beats Studio Pro Bluetooth Wireless Headphones

Beats Solo 4 Bluetooth Wireless On-Ear Headphones

Sudio A1 True Wireless Earbuds, Bluetooth Earbuds – I adore these. They are much more affordable wireless earbuds than AirPods. Get them to save money for yourself, for someone who doesn’t like Apple products, for a kid or teenager, etc. However, I strongly advise getting them in a light color. I had a dark green pair and lost one of the earbuds when on the train because I couldn’t find it against the dark carpet.

Check out Mighty Well deals!

I talk about Mighty Well every year … because they’re pretty incredible! There are so many different products, but I’ve included some that I think are best for holiday gifting. That being said, Mighty Well has some that fall under FSA/HSA, so if you’re a chronic illness patient and have some leftover funds, pick things up for yourself by the end of the year.

Check out Mighty Well and use code KATEM10 for 10% off your order.

Fluid Motion Backpack – For someone who uses a feeding tube, TPN, constant IVs, etc.

H₂O Shield™: PICC Line Shower Cover – Perfect for anyone living with a PICC line.

PICCPerfect® Pro – When I had a PICC line, I spent so much time keeping it out of the way. If I had this, it would have been a lot easier.

IV Line Care Kit

Self Care Case™: Customizable Medical Supplies Organizer

Self Care Essentials Kit – While the things in this kit are included with the case, maybe you don’t want the case! Maybe you’re shopping for someone (yourself or others) who already has a similar pouch they could use. Maybe you’re shopping for someone who already has the case but needs more of the supplies within it.

Compression socks – These are for men and these are for women.

Again, use KATEM10 for 10% off.

Check out CURE deals!

I love CURE so much that a) I have bought it over and over again and b) I have introduced it to my dad and grandmother.

As someone with POTS, I need lots of electrolytes. Sure, the one I need the most is sodium, but I also need the rest of them. I’ve tried other electrolyte supplements (yes, including Liquid IV, which I hated the taste of), but CURE is my favorite flavored electrolyte powder, both because of the results and because of the taste.

As I mentioned, I’ve introduced my dad and grandmother to it, and they both like it. My dad is extremely active; he’s a former marathoner and spends a lot of his time in Maine doing a lot of outdoor work like cutting down and up trees, as well as helping my mom with her sheep farm. He uses CURE instead of a heavy-sugar sports drink.

My grandmother, however, has the same normal-to-low blood pressure that I do. A few summers ago, when we were all outside at my aunt and uncle’s, she had some light-headeness. I had a packet of CURE in my bag – I never go anywhere without some – and gave it to her, and it made a difference. Then this past summer, we sent her the starter kit, and she loves it.

If you don’t what flavor you or the person you’re shopping for might like, check out the variety pack.

My favorite flavors are lemonade and berry pomegranate. Other flavors include ginger turmeric, grapefruit, watermelon, blood orange, lime, strawberry kiwi, and tropical punch.

Cure also makes a kid-specific hydrating mix! It’s the same formula but in more kid-friendly flavors. Get all of them in this bundle or get the individual flavors: fruit punch, mixed berry, or pink lemonade.

Check out Buoy deals!

Over the summer, Buoy sent me some of their Hydration Drops, which are unflavored liquid electrolytes. I loved them so much and they made such a difference in my heat intolerance management, especially when I was dealing with a POTS flare from having COVID.

They make a variety of products, but all of them are designed to add something extra to your life (and drink). The drops are unflavored, although with a little mineral aftertaste. They are also free of the Big 8 food allergies, and if you are a chronic illness patient, you can get 35% off of your orders for life.

So, yeah, I’m a massive fan of Buoy now.

Hydration Drops – I have to start with these, as this is the one I’ve tried! If you or someone you’re shopping for have POTS, are an athlete, or just struggle with getting enough electrolytes, these are the way to go.

Digestion Drops – These drops are ideal for people dealing with IBS, bloating, or gas.

Energy Drops – Want energy without drinking coffee or an energy drink? Check out these! Buoy specifically describes them as “No-Jitters, No-Crash Energy” (x).

Brain Health Drops – Obviously “Brain Health” is straightforward, but what exactly does it mean? Buoy says that these “Stimulate cognitive function and support brain fog and migraine relief with liquid nootropics, electrolyte” (x).

Immunity Drops – These are ideal for boosting your immune system.

Need, well, a rescue? Buoy has you covered.

Rescue Drops – The Hydration Drops are already packed full of electrolytes, but these are six times stronger than them.

Rescue Salt – You can dissolve these in drinks like the drops but also eat it straight or add it to food.

Check out their Black Friday sale and get 20% off here.

I don’t know the exact date of my RA diagnosis, bu I don’t know the exact date of my RA diagnosis, but this is from right around then in July 2010. ⁣
⁣
When I was diagnosed, I had been having symptoms for 9 years. ⁣
- 9 years of foot pain (partially from tarsal coalition)⁣
- Arthritic damage in said food⁣
- Carpal tunnel off and on for several years⁣
- And more⁣
⁣
I was finally diagnosed because I woke up one morning and was unable to open my jaw more than 8 mm. It turned out that I had horrible arthritic damage to my TMJs, which got me off the waiting list at MGH rheumatology. I left that appointment with an autoimmune arthritis diagnosis. ⁣
⁣
The fact that July is not only my diagnosis anniversary but also Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month has always seemed right. I may not have been diagnosed with JA, but given the amount of arthritis I had along with my many years of symptoms, it's generally accepted that I had it. ⁣
⁣
This year marks 16 years since diagnosis and this fall marks 25 years since my symptoms started. It's pretty weird that so much time has already passed!⁣

I've been spending a fair amount of time at my foo I've been spending a fair amount of time at my foot surgeon's office this year, and boy has it been messing with my head. ⁣
⁣
I spent a lot of time from 2001-2010 dealing with my left foot. Long story short, it took until this foot surgeon saw me in 2010 after fixing this foot for me to be diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. But I spent those 9 years going from doctor to doctor, having surgery after surgery, trying to figure out what was causing my pain and to fix it. ⁣
⁣
Was it the tarsal coalition? Did I have another chronic health issue? Etc. ⁣
⁣
I spent from age 10 to 19 unsure what exactly was wrong with me and in huge amounts of pain. We thought we figured it out, and then something else happened. ⁣
⁣
We know exactly what is wrong with this foot this time around: in 2024, I got 3 stress fractures, and no one put me in a boot. They almost fully healed before breaking in 2025, and then the same thing happened in 2026. ⁣
⁣
This is a different part of the foot than I used to deal with, but any problems with my feet and especially my left foot messes with me. While this doctor eventually fixed the problems and even got me diagnosed with RA, every time I go back to his office, I have to fight not to become 17 again. ⁣
⁣
PTSD is a bitch.⁣
⁣
(PS - if you want to know why I'm going back to this guy when it messes with me, it's because I don't trust anyone else to fix my foot.)⁣

There are a lot of medical advancements that I'm g There are a lot of medical advancements that I'm grateful for, but one of them is the ability to do IVIG at home. ⁣
⁣
I'm on IVIG - or, in my case, subcutaneous immunoglobulin replacement therapy - because I have to kill the better part of my immune system. There are, in fact, some parts of my immune system that don't attack me, which is why we add them back in. This helps reduce my chance of serious infection and also made my rheumatologist feel comfortable enough to increase my Rituxan dose. ⁣
⁣
This is a weekly treatment that I do, but it's so much better that I can do it at home than going into the hospital. It takes around 2.5 hours from taking my pre-meds to tossing my needles into a Sharps container. While it's another thing that I have to do, because I do it at home, I don't have to risk exposure to infections at the hospital or deal with Boston traffic, which would add another hour to the process. ⁣
⁣
I can finish my treatment and then go about my day, which I'm very grateful for.⁣
