January Favorites

Another month has come and gone and it’s time to talk about the things I loved in January!

Don’t forget to enter to win a Starbucks gift card!

All Monthly Favorites

January 2016 Favorites

Listening

I’ve mostly been listening to the playlists for TLM. The are TLM Novel Playlist, TLM – Becky Playlist, TLM – Elizabeth Playlist, and TLM – Nicholas Playlist.

I also finally started listening to the Hamilton soundtrack and I completely understand the buzz around it now. I’m obsessed and crossing my fingers that eventually it makes its way to Boston.

Audible – I’ll talk more about the books I’ve been reading or listening to in a minute, but I listen to at least 1 book a month. Try an Audible Free Trial!

All-Time Favorites: Music

Reading – Books

The Magicians by Lev Grossman

Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert – Check out my review!

A King’s Ransom by Sharon Kay Penman (This is the only book that I’m reading a hard copy of!)

All-Time Favorites: Books

My Bookshelf

Reading – Blog Posts

8 Steps To Pursing a Professional Writing Career – She’s Novel

Using Brackets to Write Faster – Briana Mae Morgan

Poverty Luxe – Victoria has been on fire this month. She has so many posts that are legitimately helpful and free of tips that you could find anywhere and everywhere, and these are all things that she does. Some especially awesome posts: tips for making a meal plan that doesn’t suck, 7 surprising things have have totally saved us money, and nine great things to do when you’re broke.

Wearing – Clothes, etc.

January 2016 Favorites

AG cords (similar) | J.Crew Tippi sweater | J.Crew merino wool cardigan (similar) | Lauren Ralph Lauren boots | L.L. Bean boots |

All-Time Favorites: Clothes, Shoes, and Accessories

Wearing – Beauty

January 2016 Favorites

Rimmel Stay Matte primer | Revlon ColorStay foundation | NARS The Multiple in Orgasm | Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara | Maybelline Fit Me powder | Urban Decay Naked Basics palette | Sephora Sunbleached Filter palette

We moved right around Christmas, and the new house has forced hot air heating. That combined with it being January in New England meant that I had to change my foundation routine from the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation to using their primer with Revlon foundation so that my face isn’t oily but isn’t drying and breaking into eczema. Also, fun fact, the foundation shades I use (depending on my anemia levels and the brand) are light ivory, true ivory, ivory, and buff. In case anyone wondered if I was pale or not.

All-Time Favorites: Beauty

Inside My Makeup Bag

Watching

Supernatural – I decided to rewatch it and it was an excellent decision. And my love for it was reinforced and now I have a lot of feelings.

Inside the American Mob – A really interesting documentary series for anyone interested in the history of the mob.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Once I finished Supernatural, I still wanted a more Supernatural-esque kind of show, so I decided to rewatch Buffy, too. I only watched the first 3 seasons the first time around, so we’ll see if I stop there again or keep watching.

The Loft – I liked this a lot more than I expected to! I completely didn’t expect the ending and am rather impressed by it.

All-Time Favorites: Movies

Hmm, I’m not sure. It depends on how I feel when I keep going through the series. I’m in the middle of season 3 now, and still obsessed, so we shall see.
