Gift Guide: Custom Gifts

This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for supporting Kate the (Almost) Great!

It’s that time again – holiday gift guide time! I know it might seem early to some people, but I also know that there are plenty of people who start shopping early. Plus, my first gift guide of the year is, as it is today, usually the custom gifts. These are gifts that can’t be bought last-minute without paying an outrageous rush fee because they have to be personalized. This year, I’ve expanded this gift guide a bit beyond the usual monogrammed gifts. Yes, there are still monogrammed gifts in this post! But I’m also doing custom gifts at large. These are perfect for the people in your life who like to put their monogram on everything, but they’re also great for people who are recently married or for people for whom you’re buying a family gift.

Before you do any shopping, sign up for Rakuten, formerly known as EBates. It’s an extension you install to your browser and it will alert you when you’re on a website that they have a partnership with. Get cash back when you shop! They partner with the companies and get paid through them, so you pay nothing, but you get money. Sign up here.

Custom Gifts: Personalized Family Signs

Personalized Family Name Sign Wall Décor ($123) – This wooden sign has your last name’s first initial, your family name (The Mitchell Family, for example), and “Est. [Date of Wedding]”.

MRC “The Regal” Sign ($38) – MRC describes this as, “This glass frame is can be hung on the wall for decoration or in a window as a sun catcher. Each piece is expertly crafted by one of the craftsmen in our workshop with the names you provide. The glass portion measures 8″ x 18″. A metal sawtooth hanger on the back allows for easy installation while providing a secure mount” (x). In this sign, you include the names of the two people in the couple you’re giving this to, their last name, and again “Est. [Date of Wedding]”.

Personalized Outdoor Sign Family Name Wood Sign Rustic Welcome Sign ($58) – They describe this sign as, “featuring birds and tree branches are the perfect decorative touch to you home, cabin, camper, or lake house. Carved from solid Mahogany and sealed for outdoor display” (x). It says “Welcome To Our Home,” and then the names of the couple you’re giving this to. Size 18×7 is $58, 22×9 is $93, and 24×11 is $143.

Personal Creations’ Home Key Hook ($30) – This key hook has “Home” carved out, and underneath are 4 key hooks. There are 2 lines that you can personalize. In the example on their website, they have the first line saying, “The Campbell Family,” and the second line saying, “Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much.” (That line is fully up to you! That’s just the example they have.)

There are a lot of medical advancements that I'm g There are a lot of medical advancements that I'm grateful for, but one of them is the ability to do IVIG at home. ⁣
⁣
I'm on IVIG - or, in my case, subcutaneous immunoglobulin replacement therapy - because I have to kill the better part of my immune system. There are, in fact, some parts of my immune system that don't attack me, which is why we add them back in. This helps reduce my chance of serious infection and also made my rheumatologist feel comfortable enough to increase my Rituxan dose. ⁣
⁣
This is a weekly treatment that I do, but it's so much better that I can do it at home than going into the hospital. It takes around 2.5 hours from taking my pre-meds to tossing my needles into a Sharps container. While it's another thing that I have to do, because I do it at home, I don't have to risk exposure to infections at the hospital or deal with Boston traffic, which would add another hour to the process. ⁣
⁣
I can finish my treatment and then go about my day, which I'm very grateful for.⁣

Weeks 23 and 24 of 2026 Weekly! The last two wee Weeks 23 and 24 of 2026 Weekly!

The last two weeks were prepping for my infusion, having/recovering from my infusion, and getting caught up after. This meant things were very busy but also I don’t have a lot to show for them.

1️⃣ New glasses! I really like having multiple pairs so I can switch them as I want.
2️⃣ One of my current projects. I got this standing hoop for my birthday and I’m working on an alphabet (uppercase and lower, although I’m still working on the lower) with extra floss.
3️⃣ Infusion time! I got my higher dose so hopefully my symptoms improve a lot in the upcoming weeks🤞🏻
