Best Gift Ideas for the Holidays: Cyber Week 2023

This post contains affiliate links and sponsored product placement. I do not share any product or company that I dislike; all opinions are mine. Thank you for supporting Kate the (Almost) Great®!

Woohoo! Thanksgiving is over … let’s turn our attention to Cyber Week 2023! This is the best time to buy higher-priced items to give as gifts or to use yourself … especially given how helpful these products can be but how expensive they are. So let’s talk about the over 25 products I’ve compiled that you should get.

Additionally, I’ve tried to come up with 2 price points or 2 versions of the same products. For example, you’ll see 2 stand mixers as the first 2 products, and they are at 2 different price points. This is so you can find what you’re looking for and stick to your budget.

ID-30

I also think that an amazing (and unique!) gift idea is a test from ID30. If this name sounds familiar to you, it’s because I got the opportunity to test them out at the end of last year and shared my feelings in this post.

ID30 is, in my opinion, a revolutionary company for chronic illness patients. According to their website, “tests can identify the right diagnosis, prevent future disease and even reverse existing conditions” (x). You order the test and take it to your local lab. They take your blood and send it in. Two weeks later, you’ll receive an email with your results!

The reason I consider ID30 revolutionary is that these tests put you in control of your health. Yes, you will do best if you bring the results to a functional medicine doctor. But with these tests, if you think you have an autoimmune disease or Leaky Gut or something similar, you can get these tests without convincing a doctor that they should order them.

In my opinion, the one drawback to their tests is the cost, so if you have a discount code and/or get one as a gift for the holidays, that takes that problem off the table! And oh boy do I have those for you.

First, let’s talk about the tests.

The ID30 Autoimmune Antibody Test is a test that checks for most autoimmune diseases. And not just “most” – this test checks for over 30 autoimmune disease markers. These markers account for over 70% of the autoimmune diseases most commonly diagnosed!

Some of these markers check for Celiac Disease, Crohn’s Disease, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Pernicious Anemia, Raynaud’s Phenomenon, Sjögren’s Syndrome, Hashimoto’s, and Ulcerative Colitis. And more!

A hand holding 2 boxes of ID30's Autoimmune Antibody Test

Ready for a discount? Use the code KATE25 for $25 off!

The ID30-GI Complete Test is a 3-in-1 test: ID30 Comprehensive Autoimmune Antibody Test, 96 Food Sensitivity Panel, and 96 Food Sensitivity Panel.

As you can gather from the name, this test is complete. It checks for 30+ autoimmune antibodies, 90+ potential food sensitivities, and a quantitative test measuring the potential for Leaky Gut Syndrome … in one trip to the phlebotomist and without requiring a doctor’s orders.

If you’re on the fence about getting this test, let me reassure you: this is the test that I got last year, and I was very happy with it. It confirmed my food intolerances, which I had identified by trial and error, and overall, my autoimmune test results were similar to results I’ve had from the same tests but run by my regular doctors.

If you’re shopping for anyone who is dealing with chronic problems, you might want to get this for them. Or buy it for yourself!

Ready for another discount? Use the code KATE50 for $50 off!

Taking this test can help point you in the direction of what to do next in your search for medical answers (and treatment). And you can actually take control of your health with these tests, in a way that is usually reliant on other people ordering tests.

Both of these are available throughout the US, excluding NY, NJ, MD, and MA. Get either of them for yourself or a loved one now.

I've been spending a fair amount of time at my foo I've been spending a fair amount of time at my foot surgeon's office this year, and boy has it been messing with my head. ⁣
⁣
I spent a lot of time from 2001-2010 dealing with my left foot. Long story short, it took until this foot surgeon saw me in 2010 after fixing this foot for me to be diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. But I spent those 9 years going from doctor to doctor, having surgery after surgery, trying to figure out what was causing my pain and to fix it. ⁣
⁣
Was it the tarsal coalition? Did I have another chronic health issue? Etc. ⁣
⁣
I spent from age 10 to 19 unsure what exactly was wrong with me and in huge amounts of pain. We thought we figured it out, and then something else happened. ⁣
⁣
We know exactly what is wrong with this foot this time around: in 2024, I got 3 stress fractures, and no one put me in a boot. They almost fully healed before breaking in 2025, and then the same thing happened in 2026. ⁣
⁣
This is a different part of the foot than I used to deal with, but any problems with my feet and especially my left foot messes with me. While this doctor eventually fixed the problems and even got me diagnosed with RA, every time I go back to his office, I have to fight not to become 17 again. ⁣
⁣
PTSD is a bitch.⁣
⁣
(PS - if you want to know why I'm going back to this guy when it messes with me, it's because I don't trust anyone else to fix my foot.)⁣

There are a lot of medical advancements that I'm g There are a lot of medical advancements that I'm grateful for, but one of them is the ability to do IVIG at home. ⁣
⁣
I'm on IVIG - or, in my case, subcutaneous immunoglobulin replacement therapy - because I have to kill the better part of my immune system. There are, in fact, some parts of my immune system that don't attack me, which is why we add them back in. This helps reduce my chance of serious infection and also made my rheumatologist feel comfortable enough to increase my Rituxan dose. ⁣
⁣
This is a weekly treatment that I do, but it's so much better that I can do it at home than going into the hospital. It takes around 2.5 hours from taking my pre-meds to tossing my needles into a Sharps container. While it's another thing that I have to do, because I do it at home, I don't have to risk exposure to infections at the hospital or deal with Boston traffic, which would add another hour to the process. ⁣
⁣
I can finish my treatment and then go about my day, which I'm very grateful for.⁣

Weeks 23 and 24 of 2026 Weekly! The last two wee Weeks 23 and 24 of 2026 Weekly!

The last two weeks were prepping for my infusion, having/recovering from my infusion, and getting caught up after. This meant things were very busy but also I don’t have a lot to show for them.

1️⃣ New glasses! I really like having multiple pairs so I can switch them as I want.
2️⃣ One of my current projects. I got this standing hoop for my birthday and I’m working on an alphabet (uppercase and lower, although I’m still working on the lower) with extra floss.
3️⃣ Infusion time! I got my higher dose so hopefully my symptoms improve a lot in the upcoming weeks🤞🏻
