Everyday Summer Makeup

It’s hard to believe it, but we’re at the unofficial start of summer! But that means that the next 3-4 months are filled with heat and humidity, which can do a number on your makeup. To help you avoid your face melting, I’m sharing my everyday summer makeup.

Also, as a reminder, check out Ebates (affiliate)! This is an online rewards system to help you get money back when you shop. Install the plugin into your browser, and when you go to shop, Ebates will give you a notification about whether or not you can earn money back at that online store. The reward varies from store to store and can be anywhere from 1% to 10% cash back. And then every couple of months, you get a deposit to your PayPal or a check in the mail!

This post contains affiliate links, and except for the one above, they are not identified. Thank you for supporting Kate the (Almost) Great!

When we enter summer, we tend to want lighter makeup, but we still want some. I'm sharing my everyday summer makeup to help you figure out find awesome products.

Summer Makeup: Before & After the Makeup

Primer, makeup, makeup primer, pixi beauty, pixi, pixi by petra, neutrogena, moisturizer, skincare, eyeshadow primer, too faced, makeup, summer makeup, everyday makeup

Neutrogena moisturizer with sunscreen | Pixi Glow Tonic | Pixi Primer | Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Primer

It’s always important to set your makeup up for success because, if you’re not careful, all your hard work can just melt off of your face and/or look less-than-great in the heat and humidity. I’ve been super into the Pixi Glow Tonic in recent months with all of its awesome reviews, and I can confirm that it’s just a good as it seems to be. It’s a toner that provides exfoliation and smells great. It’s also super important to use a moisturizer with sunscreen in it because you really don’t want skin cancer. My grandmother has had spots of cancer removed from her nose several times, and that’s really motivated me to always wear sunscreen. Once you’ve done these things, you need primer. Primer does pretty much what its name sounds like: it primes your face for makeup. It gives you a smooth canvas for your makeup and helps your makeup last for hours and hours. I’ve been loving the Pixi primer recently, but another favorite of mine is the Smashbox one. And you absolutely need primer for your eyes if you’re going to wear eyeshadow or a non-water-proof eyeliner. I’ve been using one from Too Faced, but I also enjoy the Smashbox one.

And something that is SO important year-round (but especially in summer) is setting spray. Heat and humidity have nothing on makeup set well! My absolute favorite is from Urban Decay and I can’t recommend it enough.

Summer Makeup: Face

Best summer makeup, Laura Mercier, Bare Minerals, Mac Jacobs, ColourPop, highlighter, foundation, setting powder, light makeup, best makeup, best summer makeup, highlighter palette

Marc Jacobs Shameless Youthful 24H Foundation | bareMinerals Original Foundation | Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder | ColourPop In-nude-endo Pressed Highlighter Palette

Here’s the thing: I think that BB or CC creams are ideal for the summer, but I haven’t yet found one that I like, so if I want to wear something thicker than powder foundation, I’ve been mixing foundation (love this Marc Jacobs one) with moisturizer. Is it ideal? No, but until I find a product that I like, that’s what I’m going to do. As I mentioned, I do sometimes wear a powder foundation, but if I don’t do that, I wear a translucent setting powder. I’ve tried many different ones, and the Laura Mercier powder is by far the best. If you don’t want to spend the money but want to try it, get the small container! It still lasts for a while, and you can decide for yourself if its worth the cost. Aside from that, I mostly just wear highlighter on my face because I’m so pale that I struggle to find a bronzer that works. I’ve been loving this highlighter palette from ColourPop because it’s great quality, has six different shades, and is at a great price.

Why you should be buying ColourPop makeup

Summer Makeup: Eyes

Mascara, best mascara, makeup, summer makeup, everyday makeup, Benefit, Too Faced, Maybelline, brow, brow product

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara | Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | Benefit Gimme Brow | Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

For me, the most important part of eye makeup in the summer is that it’s waterproof. This is not about getting in the water with makeup on but rather preventing eye makeup (especially mascara) from giving me raccoon eyes. My favorite mascara of all time is the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, but Maybelline has my second favorite. As for eyeliner, you can’t go wrong with Kat Von D. I stopped using Tattoo Liner because they changed the formula and it’s not as pigmented now, but I’m looking forward to trying the Ink Liner because that’s supposed to be more pigmented. My favorite eyebrow product is the Benefit Gimme Brow, but I’ve also heard good things about Anastasia Beverly Hills’s products.

What’s your favorite summer makeup?

Weeks 23 and 24 of 2026 Weekly! The last two wee Weeks 23 and 24 of 2026 Weekly!

The last two weeks were prepping for my infusion, having/recovering from my infusion, and getting caught up after. This meant things were very busy but also I don’t have a lot to show for them.

1️⃣ New glasses! I really like having multiple pairs so I can switch them as I want.
2️⃣ One of my current projects. I got this standing hoop for my birthday and I’m working on an alphabet (uppercase and lower, although I’m still working on the lower) with extra floss.
3️⃣ Infusion time! I got my higher dose so hopefully my symptoms improve a lot in the upcoming weeks🤞🏻

FAQ: Have you tried [insert supplement here]? As FAQ: Have you tried [insert supplement here]?

As with all things, what’s true for me might not be true for others. I’m sure there are plenty of RA patients who do respond well to supplements; I’m just not one of them.

Additionally, at one point, I refer to being on chemo since 2012. As always, the chemo I’m referring to is Rituxan, which is my RA treatment. I do not have cancer nor have I ever claimed to.

Video: Kate talks to the camera. Text at the beginning reads “FAQ: Have you tried [insert supplement here]?” and other text later reads “*24” to correct when she says “symptoms for 21 years”. There are captions.
